Counseling for Clients, Caregivers & Families Impacted by Cancer

Cancer affects more than physical health. A diagnosis and treatment can impact emotional well-being, relationships, daily life, and our sense of identity. Whether you are navigating your own cancer diagnosis or supporting a loved one through treatment and recovery, having a safe space to talk and receive support can make a meaningful difference.

Mental Health Support at CWC

CWC is pleased to introduce a pilot program to test the inclusion of mental health counseling  through our Wellness Care program.

We are initially partnering with Alyssa Davis, LICSW, a Licensed Independent Social Worker with a private practice in Yarmouth Port. Alyssa brings a compassionate, supportive approach to helping individuals navigate the emotional challenges that can come with a cancer diagnosis and treatment, including, but not limited to:

  • Processing a cancer diagnosis

  • Navigating the emotional impact of treatment

  • Managing stress and anxiety

  • Building or strengthening a support system

  • Developing healthy coping strategies

She offers both one-on-one therapy sessions as well as couples therapy both in-person and virtually.

Counseling Through Your CWC Wellness Card

To get started, contact Alyssa directly by phone or email to schedule your first appointment.

Current CWC clients and caregivers may use their CWC Wellness Card funds toward one-on-one counseling sessions with Alyssa at a rate of $150 per hour. For couples sessions her rate is $250. Simply provide Alyssa with your CWC client number, and she’ll take care of the rest.

We encourage you to check with your health insurance provider first to see if your counseling sessions are covered. Using insurance when available can help preserve your Wellness Card funds for other integrative therapies and services that may support your well-being.

Insurance providers Alyssa takes:

  • Aetna

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield

  • Cigna

  • Point32 Healthcare

  • United Healthcare (Optum)

About Alyssa Davis

A cancer diagnosis can bring overwhelming emotions, and often there is very little time to process what is happening. Before you’ve had a chance to take in the news, you may find yourself navigating appointments, tests, treatment decisions, and countless new questions. You still have to keep moving forward, even when you’re scared, overwhelmed, or unsure of what you’re feeling.

Therapy can provide a space to slow down and process the emotional impact of your cancer journey. You may experience fear, grief, sadness, anger, anxiety, or even numbness. There is no “right” way to respond, and you don’t have to put on a positive face or be strong all the time.

My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and down to earth. Whether you need space to process difficult emotions, navigate changes in your relationships, or simply have someone listen, therapy can provide a place to be honest about what you’re experiencing without judgment. You don’t have to carry it all alone. If you feel that therapy could provide support during your cancer journey, I invite you to reach out!
