about cape wellness collaborative
Cape Wellness Collaborative's mission is to help residents of Cape Cod and the Islands who are facing cancer feel better through integrative therapies, nourishing meals, and emotional support services. Eligibility for services include individuals within the first year of their diagnosis (extending up to one year from the date of application), who are undergoing or recovering from cancer-related radiation, chemotherapy, or oncology-related surgery. We also serve people who have had positive genetic testing results for inherited cancer risk and are undergoing prophylactic surgery.
People facing cancer can apply to receive a Wellness Card valued at $750 to use for integrative therapies with any of our affiliated practitioners. Caregivers may receive a Wellness Card valued at $200. Please be sure to apply within 12 months of your cancer diagnosis.
our history
Inspired to make a difference in her community after losing her mother to ovarian cancer, local musician Sarah Swain created the Cape Cod Women’s Music Festival in 2012. In 2014, Sarah founded the Cape Wellness Collaborative, which works with a team of outstanding local wellness professionals to provide free-of-charge integrative wellness therapies to those facing cancer on Cape Cod and the Islands. After doing genetic testing, Sarah underwent a prophylactic double mastectomy and oophorectomy, which you can read about here.

In 2020, Sarah was awarded the American Red Cross of Massachusetts Community Service Hero Award, and in 2021 she was picked as a Human Rights Honoree on behalf of the Church Women United of Cape Cod. Needless to say, Sarah's work has made a broad reach within the Cape Cod community and beyond.
