Dear friends, With the Falmouth Road Race behind us and Second Summer Cycle on the horizon, I am reminded of the many ways movement can bring energy, connection, and joy into our lives. Fitness doesn’t have to mean running a race or riding miles on a bike. Movement—suited to your abilities, interests, and needs—can be a powerful elixir for so many things, including stress, pain, low mood, and fatigue. For those living with cancer, caring for a loved one, or supporting someone through treatment, finding the right kind of movement can also be a meaningful way to care for yourself. As summer winds down and fall begins, it’s a great time to start—or restart—a movement routine. Take a walk, stretch, dance, swim, garden, or simply find a few minutes each day to move in a way that feels good to you. There’s no “right” way to be active. Start where you are, listen to your body, and celebrate every bit of movement. As always, thank you for being part of the Cape Wellness Collaborative community. Wishing you a wonderful start to Fall! Carol.
