PRACTICE: ACK Community Chiropractic

Dr. Penny Hanson, D.C. is from a small, picturesque town in Southwest Iowa called Malvern. With a passion for learning and growing, she then went on to receive a Bachelor of Science as well as a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa in 2008.

After graduating, Dr. Hanson went to work at a Chiropractic office as a Chiropractic Assistant where she not only found herself again learning and growing but also developing a love for helping the community through Chiropractic.

This passion drove her to attend Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa where she received her doctorate in Chiropractic in October of 2015.

With her background in studio arts, she created and taught craft classes at the Atheneum in the winter of 2023- Kraft ‘n Kuss. She has also been a hand-building ceramics instructor at NISDA since the summer of 2024. Participating as a student and a teacher in many art and craft classes across the Island; AAN, NISDA, NHA, she has made many connections and friends along the way.

Dr. Hanson has been an active member of the community for the four short years she’s lived here on Nantucket. She is an active volunteer for NISDA, Nantucket Pride, Nantucket Elementary School, and Nantucket Island Fair.

She is passionate about supporting Women in Business and many of the small businesses on the Island. Dr. Hanson loves the culture, diversity, and progression of the island in the arts as well in the reception of health. She plans to continue that passion and support as the woman Chiropractor and business owner of ACK Community Chiropractic.

When she is not working as the woman Chiropractor on the Island, she is involved in dog walking her poodle Dalilah, yoga, biking, working out, and is also enthusiastic about the art and music scene, local and global.

She wants to be a part of the Cape Wellness Collaborative because it is a great resource that many folks in her community can find relief. "It's never beyond me to help someone in pain."
