Practice: Pia Mezzacappa Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine

Pia has been practicing Acupuncture and Herbal medicine for 18 years. She holds a doctorate from the Pacific College of Health and Science, and a Master's Degree from the New England School of Acupuncture -part of the Mass College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Prior to that, she earned a degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of Connecticut.

She has worked in a variety of clinical settings, including the Boston Medical Center Pediatric inpatient / Oncology outpatient, Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, and Dimock Community Health in Roxbury.

After completing her studies, Pia worked for four years as an Acupuncturist and Researcher at the Marino Center of the Massachusetts General Hospital, on NIH funded studies investigating the use of Acupuncture on Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, and Atopic Dermatitis using functional MRI and MEG technology. 

Pia specializes in Women's Health and Internal Medicine. She also has a special interest in helping alleviate the side effects of cancer treatments.
